First day of actual making, well afternoon!

The two faces of the E has been made. I used a circular saw bench for all the straight cuts which i could get at by using it. The inner bits were bansawed and then routered to bbe a nice finish. All that needs doing now is to fill a few over cuts from the circular saw and from the screws which held the two faces together.

Chocolate Research!!

Now this is the best research ever. Buying chocolate and researching the size of packaging and different kinds.

This wrapper covers the whole bar and is viewed in an portrait orientation. The bar itself is  156mm x 66mm x 8mm which is a quite nice bar which ways 100g. This is the size which i think i am going to aim for.

This Galaxy wrapper is more the style im aiming for in shape context. I wont to create more of a sleeve style which this is but i shall play around with both styles of packaging and i may even create a combination fo the two.

Millennium trilogy books!!

As i have taken up the task of creating limited edition covers for the millennium book trilogy i thought i should look at limited edition books which are already on sale.

This box set of books has a very classical look which makes them look like they are set in some past time and dont show the modern side of this book series. The Red and the Green book both look so much more attractive than the murky brown one at the bottom. The spines of these books also look classical and old in style and dont have much to link the books together bar the authors name.

This limited edition version of the book series are sold in America. I believe they look much more attractive and are more modern than the others but still not modern enough. The simplicity of the spines is really nice and the type used on them works with the crime scene in the book. The logos are brilliant and i think i should take influence form them when designing my covers.

Great package design, which is very inspirational.

Studio Alto!!

With my project moving more towards looking at the Flyer over the installation advertisement. I have began to to look at creating this flyer in the format of a chocolate bar. This has made me begin to look at packaging design work.

Stefan Sagmeister: Again.

Sagmeister influenced a path i tried with my book cover. I like how on a few of his covers them being book or cd, he hides things behind a coloured cover. This led me to experimenting with coloured acetate and trying to hide things underneath it. After trying this for awhile i could not get it to work so gave up on it.

Niklas Angman - Falling

This has some relevance to my project. I want to create something with a falling man so this is a good piece and artist to look into

Great, nifty idea, and a great layout to show it off.
